Karmapa in Bodh Gaya to participate in Kalachakra rituals

Tibetan religious head and 17th Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje reached Bodh Gaya on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 to participate in the ongoing Kalachakra ceremony.

The Karmapa’s office of administration will provide meals and accommodation free of charge to around 4,000 participants at the Kagyu Monlam facility near Tergar Monastery.

Post the Kalachakra empowerment, the winter programme of the Karmapa would begin from January 16 to February 4. Further, the fourth Kagyu Monlam animal camp would be held from January 18 to 26, wherein free veterinary care for animals in the Bodh Gaya area would be provided.

The Karmapa is the spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu school, one of the four sects of Buddhism.
